Firstly I would like to thank cousin Etien Wansa for this great new website.THANKS!!I would like to say hello to all asloutians around the world hopefully you are all well.

Recently myself several other people from our village in Sydny Australia got together and formed the Aslout Youth Association Australia. Its aim is for the youth of the village in Australia to get to know each other and hold events. We held a bbq 3 months ago and about 100 people attended. It was nice to see everybody getting to know each other. If anybody would like to contact the association please email us on aslout_association_australia@aslout.com or aslout@hotmail.com. If you would like to contact myself please do not hesitate on nabeel_wansa@aslout.com or n_wansa@hotmail.com.

I would like to wish everybody the best and i look forward to hearing from you all.

Regards
Nabeel Wansa

ps I would like to encourage all users to forward the info about the site to fellow asloutians.

Hello from Richard Schletty in Minnesota

A big hello to my Lebanese brothers and sisters in Aslout. I am looking forward to participating in this forum set up by Etien.

My sister Dorothy Harmon first made contact with Etien earlier this year.

I will share with you news about my family and my hopes for a brighter future for everyone. Briefly, my mother's name is Bersute (or Barjhoot) Schletty. She is 93 years old and doing well. She is the daughter of Ben and Debi Mike. Bersute (many call her Bridget) was born in Aslout and emigrated to Minnesota with her mother and her sister Nacima (Nancy) in about 1924 -- ten years after her father Ben had come to Minnesota. World War I, as well as thieves who stole the money Ben had sent to them from time to time, had prevented the family from being reunited. Bersute's sister Nacima died many years ago. Brother Sam died about 7 years ago. Brother John Mike (my uncle) is still alive and well at age 79. He also lives in St. Paul, only two blocks from Bersute.

Best regards,

Richard Schletty
